Founded in 2006, the Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) has established itself as a leading educational institution in Abu Dhabi. Welcoming more than 1,750 students representing 59 nationalities, the school offers high-quality French education, enriched by a multilingual and multicultural approach that prepares students to thrive in an open, demanding, and ever-changing world.

Initially located on the Al Bateen campus, LFITM has experienced remarkable growth, leading to the creation of a modern new campus on Saadiyat Island. This state-of-the-art site provides students with an inspiring learning environment, featuring innovative facilities and cutting-edge equipment.

In September 2026–2027 (subject to ADEK approval), the historic Al Bateen campus will reopen to welcome primary school students, offering a conveniently located school in the heart of the city, complementing the Saadiyat campus.

With its two strategic campuses, LFITM will meet the growing needs of French-, English-, and international-speaking families, further strengthening its position among the region’s most prestigious institutions and reaffirming its commitment to excellence, inclusion, and forward-thinking education.

The Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) is an official examination center for the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) and the Baccalauréat, accredited by the French Ministry of Education.

This major achievement allows our students to take their exams directly at LFITM, in a familiar and reassuring environment, thereby reducing stress and supporting their success.

This recognition reflects our team’s ongoing commitment to providing both caring and rigorous guidance, ensuring that every student benefits from the best conditions to excel.

Our Campuses

Starting from the 2026–2027 school year (subject to ADEK approval), the Lycée Français International Théodore Monod will operate two campuses to meet the needs of a growing number of French-speaking, English-speaking, and international families.

  • Saadiyat Campus: welcoming students from Nursery to Grade 12 and offering two pathways: • a French–English bilingual pathway starting in Nursery • a standard French pathway
  • Al Bateen Campus: located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, it will welcome primary school students.

Both campuses will offer students modern facilities, a multicultural and caring environment, and a commitment to academic excellence in line with the standards of the French education system.

The APE, a key partner in the school and community life of LFITM

Dear Parents,

The Parents’ Association (APE) is a team of volunteer parents who reflect the cultural diversity of our school. We are proud to have been actively involved throughout this dynamic and eventful year. Our collaboration with the school, marked by respect, attentive listening, and open dialogue, has led to the achievement of several of our goals.

The APE’s strategic objectives aim to promote the French language and student well-being, to unite the community through events and year-end celebrations, to guide parents in their communication with the school, and to represent their interests during meetings and committees.

The commitment and support of APE member families have been crucial to achieving these goals. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of them, as well as to the LFITM staff. Our team hopes to have represented all families within our school and contributed to strengthening the bonds that unite our community.
