Adapted School Rhythms

The Preschool of the Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) welcomes young learners from Toute Petite Section (TPS) to Grande Section (GS) in a warm, caring, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive and grow with confidence.

A Structured Day Adapted to Children’s Needs

Children start their day at 8:00 a.m. and finish at 2:30 p.m.. After class, they can:
Join the Mini Club until 4:30 p.m., a time dedicated to fun and creative activities.
Take part in after-school activities, offering a variety of educational and artistic experiences.

Throughout the day, students enjoy two essential breaks:

  • Snack time
  • Lunch break, with a balanced lunch box prepared by parents.

From an early age, students can choose between two enriching learning pathways:
The French–English bilingual pathway, taught by native-speaking teachers, providing a natural language immersion.
The standard French pathway, aligned with the French national curriculum, integrating early English learning to ensure a balanced development of core skills.

LFITM places a strong emphasis on cultural openness from preschool onwards: students are also introduced to Arabic language and culture, fostering a multilingual and multicultural journey.

Each day is filled with varied and engaging activities, combining discovery, learning, and play:
Motor skills development to enhance coordination and balance.
Learning based on the French curriculum to build strong academic foundations.
Introduction to English and Arabic to encourage multilingualism.
Outdoor play, essential for physical and social growth.
Learning to live together, promoting cooperation and respect.

The LFITM Preschool is a gateway to high-quality education, focused on awakening curiosity, nurturing respect, and ensuring the well-being of every child.

The Elementary Section offers a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that fosters the growth and development of every student from CP to CM2 (Grades 1 to 5).

Families can choose between two learning pathways:

  • A French–English bilingual pathway, taught by native-speaking teachers and following the Cambridge curriculum, enabling students to gain a strong command of both languages.
  • A standard French pathway, aligned with the French national curriculum, ensuring a rigorous and well-balanced progression of core academic skills.

With classes of around 25 students, emphasis is placed on individualized support, teamwork, and the development of autonomy. Within a multicultural and caring environment, students thrive in conditions that promote both achievement and well-being.

In addition to the academic program, a wide range of after-school activities encourages creativity, curiosity, and open-mindedness.

Starting from Grade 6, students may join the American International Section (SIA), which provides continuity with the bilingual program offered in elementary school. This demanding curriculum enables students to further strengthen their proficiency in English through in-depth instruction in literature and history-geography, while maintaining a strong foundation in French.

We prepare our students for the French International Baccalaureate (BFI), achieving an outstanding 100% success rate in both the Baccalauréat and the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB). This success reflects our commitment to academic excellence and personalized guidance, delivered by teachers appointed by the French Ministry of Education.

The BFI, a globally recognized diploma, offers a comprehensive education that enhances analytical, oral, and written communication skills, as well as cultural awareness. By combining a multidisciplinary and international approach, LFITM equips students to enter prestigious universities and to flourish in an increasingly globalized world.

Openness to Culture

The LFITM offers its students privileged access to numerous artistic and cultural projects, thanks to strong partnerships with the French Embassy, the Institut Français, Sorbonne University, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

These collaborations enrich students’ educational journeys through unique experiences, such as the project “From the Blank Page to the Stage”, where Grade 6 students write and perform songs alongside a French artist, culminating in a concert held in our auditorium.

Leadership and Entrepreneurship

Beyond culture, we foster entrepreneurial spirit and community engagement by encouraging our students to take part in clubs and associations that reflect their interests and passions. These voluntary initiatives enrich their school experience, allowing them to get involved in meaningful causes and current global issues.

Leadership is also a key pillar of our educational approach. For example, our students can become Young International Reporters (JRI) and cover cultural, sports, and educational events — from school activities to major international gatherings.

Our ambition? To nurture engaged, creative, and responsible citizens, ready to make a positive impact within their communities!

Vision and Mission

To offer every student an excellent, innovative French education — multilingual, multicultural, and focused on well-being — supporting them in their learning and in building their future within an inclusive school community committed to the Sustainable Development Goals.

At LFITM, our mission is to provide each student with an education of excellence that is inclusive and caring, centered on their well-being and future development. We aim to nurture curious and engaged global citizens, capable of thriving in a demanding international environment.

Our Team

At the Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM), our team of 180 passionate and dedicated professionals works every day to provide students — from Preschool to Grade 12 — with an education of excellence. Most of our teachers are appointed by the French Ministry of Education and bring their expertise and commitment to supporting each student in a caring and inclusive environment.

Their rigorous training and experience enable them to deliver high-quality teaching that upholds the standards of French education while embracing the realities and opportunities of an international setting.

Alongside our teachers, the administrative and support staff play an essential role in the smooth running of the school, ensuring students’ safety, well-being, and success. Enriched by its diversity, our team shares a common mission: to offer every student an inspiring, innovative, and student-centered educational journey — preparing them to become engaged and open-minded citizens of tomorrow.

Knowledge and Culture Department (PCC)

The Knowledge and Culture Hub (PCC) is an innovative learning space that fosters students’ curiosity, openness, and critical thinking. Through interdisciplinary projects, workshops, and cultural activities, it encourages a passion for learning in new ways and enriches each student’s educational journey.

The PCC brings together several spaces dedicated to reading and knowledge:

  • The “Marmothèque”, introducing the youngest students to the joy of books
  • The BCD (Library and Documentation Center), supporting primary students in their discoveries
  • The 3C (Knowledge and Culture Center), a space for research, reflection, and independent learning for secondary students

It also leads the initiative “5 Minutes to Change Everything” (Drop Everything And Read – DEAR), implemented from primary through high school, in French, English, and Arabic. This five-minute silent reading time during each class hour encourages everyone to escape, reflect, and nurture the joy of reading in the school’s three languages of instruction.

The PCC is thus a true cultural and educational driving force at LFITM, where reading, culture, and interdisciplinarity become key levers for success and personal growth.

Inclusive Education Support Hub (PREI)

The Inclusive Education Resources Hub (PREI) embodies LFITM’s commitment to inclusive education. It supports students with specific learning needs and assists teaching teams in implementing appropriate accommodations.

Missions:

  • Develop inclusive approaches tailored to each student
  • Promote equal opportunities and academic success
  • Raise awareness within the educational community about diversity and its richness

The PREI helps make LFITM a truly inclusive school — one where every student finds their place and can flourish.
