The Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) is a prestigious school located in Abu Dhabi, currently welcoming 1,650 students from preschool to senior year on its Saadiyat campus, equipped with outstanding facilities. For the upcoming school year, the Bateen campus will reopen after a complete renovation, allowing LFITM to host its students across two sites: the Bateen site, dedicated exclusively to primary students, and the Saadiyat site, which will continue to serve both primary and secondary students.

LFITM is a place of cultural and academic enrichment, with students representing over 50 nationalities. At the heart of this diversity, the school promotes a bilingual and multicultural environment, providing students with a rigorous and globally-oriented education. LFITM is a French school accredited by the French Ministry of Education, a member of the AEFE network (Agency for French Education Abroad), and is supervised by ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge).
The institution is managed by AFLEC (Franco-Lebanese Association for Education and Culture) and is partnered with the French Mission Laïque (Mlf). LFITM is also recognized as a Cambridge International School.

Main Mission

The Arabic as a Foreign Language Teacher will be responsible for teaching Arabic to elementary non-native Arabic- speaking students (CP to CM2 / Grades 1 to 5). The teacher will support language acquisition and development, providing engaging and interactive instruction suited to beginner learners in Arabic.

Responsibilities and Activities

Teaching Arabic Language Curriculum

Deliver structured Arabic language lessons, focusing on developing foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to support language learning for young non-native speakers, incorporating visual aids, interactive activities, and age-appropriate resources.

Creating a Supportive Language Environment

Foster a positive and immersive learning environment, encouraging students to explore and practice Arabic with confidence.
Design lessons that integrate cultural understanding, helping students connect with the language in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring

Conduct regular assessments to track students’ progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
Provide feedback to students and communicate with parents and the administration about student achievements and areas for improvement.

Participation in School Projects and Events

Contribute to cultural and bilingual events and projects within the LFITM community.
Collaborate with colleagues to support bilingual education initiatives and cultural exchange, promoting Arabic language and culture.

Desired Profile

Priority will be given to candidates holding a residency visa in the United Arab Emirates

Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language Education or a related field (minimum qualification required for ADEK’s teaching agreement).

Experience

At least two years of experience teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language, particularly with elementary-aged students. Candidates with an existing ADEK teaching agreement are preferred.

Skills

Proficiency in Arabic, with strong knowledge of teaching strategies for non-native speakers. o Ability to create engaging, inclusive lesson plans tailored to beginner-level language learners. o Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Proficiency in French or English is an asset for communication within the LFITM community.
