The Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) is seeking a full-time Coordinator for its Bilingual Programme (French-English) and Head of the English Department, overseeing both the primary and secondary levels.
Located in Abu Dhabi, LFITM serves over 1,650 students representing more than 50 nationalities, from Pre-KG through Grade 12. The school is accredited by the French Ministry of Education and recognized as a Cambridge International School, offering a rigorous and innovative bilingual curriculum within a diverse, multilingual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the bilingual French-English programme across primary and secondary school levels.
- Oversee the English Department: curriculum planning, teacher support, and quality assurance.
- Teach up to 6 hours per week of English Language and Literature in secondary (subject to school needs).
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience teaching English Language and Literature at both primary and secondary levels.
- Demonstrated experience in educational leadership is essential.
- Strong understanding of the British curriculum for English and experience preparing students for IGCSE exams.
- Familiarity with the French International Baccalaureate (BFI – American section) is a strong asset.
- A background or keen interest in bilingual and bicultural education is highly valued.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills required.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Or a university degree in education or a related subject
- Candidates holding French national teaching qualifications (CAPES, Agrégation, etc.) are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for “détachement”.
