Institution Context
The Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) is a prestigious school located in Abu Dhabi, currently welcoming 1,650 students from preschool to senior year on its Saadiyat campus, equipped with outstanding facilities. For the upcoming school year, the Bateen campus will reopen after a complete renovation, allowing LFITM to host its students across two sites: the Bateen site, dedicated exclusively to primary students, and the Saadiyat site, which will continue to serve both primary and secondary students.
LFITM is a place of cultural and academic enrichment, with students representing over 50 nationalities. At the heart of this diversity, the school promotes a bilingual and multicultural environment, providing students with a rigorous and globally-oriented education. LFITM is a French school accredited by the French Ministry of Education, a member of the AEFE network (Agency for French Education Abroad), and is supervised by ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge).
The institution is managed by AFLEC (Franco-Lebanese Association for Education and Culture) and is partnered with the French Mission Laïque (Mlf). LFITM is also recognized as a Cambridge International School.
Main Mission
The EHS Manager will ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment for all employees while minimizing the school’s environmental impact. Additionally, the role includes coordinating the school bus system to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students.
Responsibilities and Activities
Workplace Risk Assessment
Analyze workstations and activities to identify physical, chemical, biological, and psychosocial risks.
Develop and update the Occupational Risk Assessment Document (DUERP).
Implementation of Prevention Plans
Develop procedures and prevention programs to mitigate identified risks.
Implement corrective and preventive actions tailored to specific workplace situations.
Training and Awareness
Train staff on health and safety best practices and emergency procedures (e.g., evacuation).
Conduct awareness sessions on risk prevention and accident avoidance.
Regulatory Monitoring and Compliance
Ensure the school complies with health and safety regulations and standards (labor laws, fire safety, etc.).
Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to safety standards and recommend improvements.
Incident Management and Safety Indicators
Record and analyze workplace accidents and incidents, proposing solutions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor key safety indicators (e.g., accident frequency and severity rates) and submit regular reports to management.
School Bus Coordination
Oversee the daily operations of the school bus system, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and timeliness.
Collaborate with bus service providers to address concerns and implement improvements.
Act as a liaison between parents, staff, and bus operators to resolve transportation issues and enhance the overall user experience.
Required Profile
Priority will be given to candidates holding a residency visa in the United Arab Emirates.
Education: Bachelor’s degree with additional certification in occupational safety and health (e.g., IOSH certification).
First Aid Certification
Experience
2-5 years in workplace health and safety is typically required for this role.
Proven organizational skills, especially in managing logistics such as transportation coordination.
Proficiency in English is mandatory; proficiency in French and in Arabic is an advantage.
