The Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) is a prestigious school located in Abu Dhabi, currently welcoming 1,650 students from preschool to senior year on its Saadiyat campus, equipped with outstanding facilities. For the upcoming school year, the Bateen campus will reopen after a complete renovation, allowing LFITM to host its students across two sites: the Bateen site, dedicated exclusively to primary students, and the Saadiyat site, which will continue to serve both primary and secondary students.
LFITM is a place of cultural and academic enrichment, with students representing over 50 nationalities. At the heart of this diversity, the school promotes a bilingual and multicultural environment, providing students with a rigorous and globally-oriented education. LFITM is a French school accredited by the French Ministry of Education, a member of the AEFE network (Agency for French Education Abroad), and is supervised by ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge).
The institution is managed by AFLEC (Franco-Lebanese Association for Education and Culture) and is partnered with the French Mission Laïque (Mlf). LFITM is also recognized as a Cambridge International School.
Main Mission
The Arabic Language Teacher will be responsible for teaching the Arabic language to native Arabic-speaking elementary students from CP (Grade 1) to CM2 (Grade 5). The teacher will support language proficiency in alignment with LFITM’s bilingual curriculum, fostering academic and linguistic development for native speakers.
Responsibilities and Activities
Teaching Arabic Language Curriculum
Deliver high-quality Arabic language lessons in alignment with the educational standards set by the Arabic-speaking curriculum.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Cultural and Language Development
Support students in strengthening their language and cultural identity through an immersive and culturally responsive approach.
Foster an inclusive environment where students feel encouraged to develop their Arabic language skills.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring
Assess and monitor students’ progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and report to parents and administration as required.
School Projects and Events Participation
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to bilingual and cultural events and projects at LFITM.
Support initiatives that align with LFITM’s commitment to a diverse and bilingual educational experience.
Desired Profile
Priority will be given to candidates holding a residency visa in the United Arab Emirates
Degree
Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language Education or a related field (minimum qualification required for ADEK’s teaching agreement).
Experience
At least two years of relevant teaching experience in Arabic language instruction, particularly with elementary students. Candidates with an existing ADEK teaching agreement are preferred.
Skills
Native-level proficiency in Arabic.
Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for young native Arabic speakers.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
Proficiency in French or English is an asset for communication within the LFITM community.
